Divine Sessions: Zermatt Unplugged tunes into singer-songwriters

A festival of acoustic music, love songs and storytelling. Back to the simply beautiful song. The fifth edition of Zermatt Unplugged will take place from the 17th to the 21st April 2012 and is presenting singer-songwriters from the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Ireland and New Zealand.

A goddess is back, and Zermatt Unplugged is proud to make her welcome again: Ms. Lauryn Hill. She won no less than five Grammy’s with her solo album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and is regarded as being the greatest R&B act since Michael Jackson. Highly talented and socially engaged from her earliest youth, self-love and trust in God are the strong messages from the hip-hop queen from New York. Or let's take Aloe Blacc who became known through his song I Need a Dollar, will redefine soul for us, and, in advance of his performance, has already announced a creative journey into the past. And, with Chris de Burgh, we will be celebrating the return of the artist who opened the very first Zermatt Unplugged concert in 2007.

The line-up of the Vernissage is a class for itself: Zermatt Unplugged presents the artists in an intimate setting here. There are some unique performances ahead of us, with Newton Faulkner, Clueso & Bernewitz Trio, Jonathan Jeremiah, Peter Cincotti and Brooke Fraser (sold out).

The Stages
The Marquee Stage, the Club Vernissage, the Sunnegga Sessions and 6 New Talent Stages with concerts for free. 25 artists appear on 9 stages and play more than 45 concerts- 5 days of concentrated music in front of an impressive backdrop!

Sunnegga Sessions
Atmospheric concerts staged at 2,288 metres above sea level, performed by talented singer-songwriters: that’s the Sunnegga Sessions, which are programmed to start at sunset. A welcome with apéro by an open fire after a day on the mountain, something superb to eat, then 45 minutes of acoustic music.

About Zermatt Unplugged
