Gübelin launches its completely renovated boutique in Zurich.
In April, the watch and jewellery business Gübelin launched its renovated Zurich boutique, which is ideally situated on the city’s Bahnhofstrasse. The company has embraced a consistent new store concept and is renovating all its branches in the same style, one by one. The completion of the Zurich branch follows on from the renovation of the Bern boutique last autumn. The same concept has also been implemented in Lucerne, additionally enriched with attractive watch brands as a shop-in-shop. The premises of the Zurich boutique provide a unique rendezvous point for customers from Switzerland and abroad. The warm ambience evokes emotions, while the main focus is on fostering relaxed dialogue.

The Zurich branch has been completely modernised and adapted to the visual requirements of today. The premises emanate a warm and relaxing atmosphere. In addition to the traditional sales counter, the new store concept allows customers to view the products in a relaxed way in a comfortable lounge, where they can take their time and allow themselves to be inspired by the watches and jewellery on display. The exclusivity of the product range is emphasised by carefully selected, high-quality furniture. In the Zurich store, Gübelin’s own jewellery collections, high-class gemstones and an exclusive range of global watch brands from the premium segment (Patek Philipp, Breguet, Jaeger le Coultre, Parmigiani, Zenith, Glashütte, Omega, Longines, Tag Heuer, Montblanc) are presented in a whole new light. The company's flagship store in Zurich opened in 1932, after the branches in Lucerne (1854) and St. Moritz (1931). It was followed by stores in Geneva (1944), Bern (1967), Lugano (1967) and Basel (1972).
Due to the international style, the American firm Audrey O’Hagan Architects was chosen to implement the concept. The Lucerne-based company K3 Architektur AG was responsible for the reconstruction. The company has already worked on several store reconstructions for Gübelin, the most recent example being the refurbished store on Lucerne’s Schwanenplatz. Much of the furniture and the specially designed showcases were produced for Gübelin by metrica INTERIOR. The German company, which is best known for its interior design work on private yachts, private aircraft and residential properties, had already demonstrated its outstanding craftsmanship at Gübelin’s branch in Bern. Caduff Lichtplanung from Dietikon (Zurich) was once again responsible for implementing the lighting plan. Only with perfectly coordinated lighting can these unique products shine forth in their full splendour.
For more than 155 years, Gübelin’s unique full service has been available worldwide, including repairing and restoring watches, producing its own inimitable jewellery, searching for special gemstones and providing gemstone valuations and reports – the company has created a centre of excellence second to none.
